# Powerbeans Privacy Policy Summary for Publisher Accounts
> Powerbeans collects publisher account data and pseudonymous reader engagement signals. Here's what that means for you, your team, and your readers.
This page summarises Powerbeans' privacy practices that are most relevant to you as a publisher — covering what data is collected about your account, what is processed from your readers on your behalf, how that data is used, and what rights you hold. ## Data Powerbeans collects about your account
When you create and operate a Powerbeans publisher account, the following data is collected with Powerbeans acting as the **data controller**:
Name, business email address, password credentials, company name and details, language preference, and team member information.
Site domains you register, API keys, embed codes, CMS integration status, and product configuration settings.
Subscription plan, invoices, payment events, and transaction records. Payments are processed by Stripe — Powerbeans does not store full card numbers on its systems.
Messages and attachments you send to Powerbeans via support channels, used to resolve issues and improve the platform.
## Data collected from your readers
When your Powerbeans widgets are live, Powerbeans processes the following data **on your behalf** as a data processor — you remain the data controller for this data:
* **Pseudonymous identifiers** — cookie and consent-dependent identifiers used for playback continuity and ad delivery
* **Device and browser information** — type, version, OS, used to deliver the right player experience
* **Playback and engagement events** — play, pause, completion, skip, and article interactions
* **General location from IP address** — country and region level; not stored as PII
* **No directly identifying data** — by design, Powerbeans does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses from your end users

## How Powerbeans uses your data
Where Powerbeans acts as controller — processing data about you and your account — it relies on the following legal bases:

Where Powerbeans relies on legitimate interests, those interests have been balanced against your rights. You can object to legitimate-interest processing at any time by contacting [privacy@powerbeans.ai](mailto:privacy@powerbeans.ai).
## Data retention
Powerbeans keeps personal data only as long as it is needed:
Account details, invoices, and transaction records are retained for six years for tax, accounting, and legal compliance purposes. This applies even after you cancel your subscription.
Your articles, audio files, summaries, and any personal data within them are deleted or anonymised within 90 days of your agreement ending.
Server and application logs used for security monitoring and incident investigation are retained for up to six months.
Marketing communications data is retained until you opt out or Powerbeans no longer has a lawful basis to hold it.
## Your rights
As a publisher and account holder, you have the following rights over your personal data held by Powerbeans:
* **Access** — request a copy of the personal data Powerbeans holds about you
* **Correction** — ask Powerbeans to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
* **Deletion** — request erasure of your data where there is no lawful reason to retain it
* **Portability** — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
* **Objection** — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing
* **Restriction** — ask Powerbeans to restrict processing in certain circumstances
* **Withdraw consent** — where processing relies on consent, withdraw it at any time
To exercise any right, contact [privacy@powerbeans.ai](mailto:privacy@powerbeans.ai). Powerbeans may need to verify your identity and will respond within the timescales required by applicable law. There is no fee unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
If your request concerns data processed on behalf of a publisher — for example, listening activity on your own site — that falls under the DPA. Powerbeans will direct you accordingly, as it is required to act on the controller's instructions in those cases.
## Subprocessors
Powerbeans uses the following subprocessors when processing publisher personal data:

## International transfers
Your data may be processed in the **UK, EEA, and US**, where Powerbeans and its subprocessors operate. Where transfers occur to countries without an adequacy decision, Powerbeans puts appropriate safeguards in place, including:
* UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or Addendum
* EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
* UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (where applicable)
Supplementary measures are applied where required by the nature of the transfer.
